How are the ashes scattered into the sea?
Family and friends can participate in scattering the ashes into the sea. Or, by lowering your chosen biodegradable urn into the waters where it will slowly sink or disperse.
 
Are services available on weekends?
We provide ash scattering at sea services on both weekdays and weekends. Services can be customised to accommodate almost any time request.

Can you accommodate special requests for scattering?
Yes, we are very flexible and do our best to fulfil all requests.

Do I have to book?
Yes. Although we can arrange scattering of ashes service within a day. Bookings made a week or more prior to the selected date enables us to provide the high degree of service that we pride ourselves on.

How far do we go offshore?
Distance varies based on the selected location. In many cases ash scattering services are a few hundred yards to ½ mile from shore.
 
How fast do the boats go?
Approximately 15 knots. We take your wishes very seriously and do not promote these services as a 'theme ride'. If however a Sea Safari experience is required after the scattering, please do let us know at the time of booking.
 
How is payment made and when?
Payment can be made by personal cheque that must be cleared by the booked date, money transfer, or by credit card (all major cards accepted). A deposit of 50% will be rendered at booking.
 
How large are the vessels, and how many passengers can attend?
We have vessels that are from 5m to 20m in length that can accommodate up to 12 passengers.

How long is the attended scattering at sea service?
A standard service is approximately 1to 1½ hours. Additional hours can be arranged. 
 
How will I know when and where the unattended scattering took place?
We will perform an unattended ash scattering service no more than 14 days after receipt. Typically we will perform the service within the week. After the service is preformed you will receive a memorial certificate indicating the date of the scattering service. The memorial certificate will also contain the latitude and longitude of where the ashes were scattered.
 
How will I know we scattered the ashes?
We will provide you the exact Longitude and latitude coordinates where the ashes were scattered. You can "revisit" the exact site as often as you wish.
 
Is the trip suitable for all ages?
Yes, we provide you with lifejackets from infant size upwards. Unless requested, this is not a fast ride experience.
 
Is there room to move around the boat?
Yes. Dependant on the requested boat. Both the Dover Explorer and the Jolly Fisherman offer ample room for all passengers attending.

What about providing flowers & wreaths?
Family and friends can bring flowers or wreaths for tossing into the sea immediately after the cremains are lowered. All flower ties or floral arrangement material must be made of biodegradable materials if being placed in the ocean.
 
What are the locations available for scattering at sea?
We provide a complete selection of locations from local beaches to the amazing White Cliffs of Dover. Locations such as the Goodwin Sands are available but do require additional travel time and organising. Please ask us for different options.
 
What kind of documents or permissions do you need to scatter ashes at sea?
None
 
What type of clothing/shoes/hat/glasses should we wear?
You are free to wear whatever clothing you feel comfortable in. We recommend matching your clothing with the current weather conditions. Feel free to give us a call if you are unsure of the current weather conditions.
